Delayed PRE pendimethalin for onion
- We are studying a new use for the herbicide pendimethalin in direct-seeded dry bulb onion in New Mexico.
- Specifically, we are measuring crop safety and efficacy of pendimethalin applied after onion germination, but before onion emergence (i.e., delayed pre-emergence applications of pendimethalin).
- Delayed pre-emergence applications of pendimethalin are not currently registered for New Mexico onion; however, our results may advance a Special Local Needs (SLN) registration.
- Please watch the 5-minute video for a summary of our first-year results. After watching, please complete the 1-minute survey. Your input will benefit the request for a SLN registration.
